COURSE
Skills for Justice Award in Designing and Delivering Incident Command Training
AIM
The aim of this course is to provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills to design and deliver incident command training. The qualification is aimed at incident command trainers for emergency services including: fire and rescue, police, military, ambulance and others. It reflects the aim of the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Program (JESIP) to standardise multi-agency command of incidents. It is written in such a way to enable individuality and focus on the needs of each specific service.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session the delegate will:
- Understand the cognitive processes involved in dealing with incidents.
- Understand service specific and multi-agency incident command procedures
- Understand the political dimension of incident command.
- Understand the legal and organisational requirements in relation to incident command.
- Understand exercise types for incident command training.
- Understand simulation types and their application in the context of the training environment.
- Understand exercise design and facilitation tools.
- Understand the components of exercise execution.
- Be able to set up working arrangements to design and deliver incident command training.
- Be able to compile a marking strategy for command assessments.
- Prepare an exercise.
- Deliver an exercise.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Learners wishing to take the qualification must already hold a recognised training qualification and have experience of delivering training.Learners must also have a minimum of three years command experience, or demonstrate competence in a command role if less.Learners must also demonstrate a thorough understanding of the current frameworks, policies and environments that commanders are expected to operate within.
DURATION
Three modules(A) two days,(B&C) four days each over a twelve week period with completion of pre course online assignments and coursework and researchbetween modules.

COURSE ACTIVITY
A classroom based course of ten days, 80 hours of directed learning and assessment, consisting of one two day and two four day modules spread over a ten to twelve week period.
Activities include syndicate and individual tasks, taught input from a qualified and experienced tutor, case studies, assignments and simulation.
Evidence is collated using an e-portfolio.
An online course page and tutorials using chat room, forum, Skype or FaceTime are offered.

COST
£9550 plus VAT per course at your Centre
£2799 plus VAT per individual place at one of our Kent centres.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking for our Kent venue, should insufficient numbers make an individual course not viable.
ONE TO ONE
One to One places are not available for this programme.
CANCELLATION CHARGES
Peter Stanley Training is not responsible for the non attendance of client’s delegates at the client venue for a booked event.Cancellations due to delegate non attendance or other foreseeable business activity disruption(i.e operational requirements or industrial action) are subject to the following charges;
(i) less than 7 days full cost of the course is due.
(ii)8-14 days 50% of course cost (to cover pre-booked tutor hotels, loss of business payment to sessional tutors, student awarding body registrations and other associated costs)
(iii)Over 14 days no charge.
